The All-Loss Tiny Desk: The College Football AI Video

How five losing head coaches ended up singing 'Outstanding' at a Tiny Desk: the Saturday behind it, the account that posted it, and why the format spread.

Oct 26, 2026 · Outstanding Tiny Desk

Every meme needs a perfect trigger, and this one got the strangest Saturday college football had seen in years. Here is how the all-loss Tiny Desk concert came together, and how it turned "outstanding tiny desk" into something people wanted to make themselves.

The Saturday

On Saturday, October 17, 2026, five of the top seven teams in the AP poll lost on the same day. Georgia, Notre Dame, Indiana, Alabama and Texas all went down within a few hours of each other, several of them in close games. By Saturday night the sport's most powerful head coaches had all had a terrible afternoon at the same time.

The video

The next evening, October 18, a new TikTok account called The Burner posted "College Football's Week 8 All-Loss Tiny Desk Concert". It took the closing nineteen seconds of Charlie Wilson's 2023 Tiny Desk concert, the part where the band hammers the chorus of "Outstanding" and Wilson laughs into the camera, and replaced the musicians with the five coaches whose teams had lost: Kalen DeBoer, Kirby Smart, Steve Sarkisian, Curt Cignetti and Marcus Freeman, the last of them on saxophone.

The caption said plainly what it was: "This is an AI parody!", with credits for the original Tiny Desk video and for the Gap Band's song. The coaches kept their own gear, team pullovers, a cap, headsets, which made them look like they had walked straight from the sideline to the desk.

Why it landed

  • Timing. It went up while fans were still processing the losses. A grieving fan base got a "support group" concert.
  • Contrast. The most stressed people in the sport, completely lost in a joyful soul song.
  • Recognizable faces. Fans of each team knew exactly who was singing, and fans of rivals enjoyed it even more.
  • A song about being great. Five coaches who had just lost, singing "Outstanding". It wrote itself.

The video passed a million plays within a day and went on to millions more, with large shares on Instagram and X. Sports sites and newspapers wrote it up within the week.

Then everyone wanted one

Within days there were NFL versions, versions with a team's owner on the sax, and versions starring friends, offices and fantasy leagues. Searches for "outstanding tiny desk", "tiny desk ai" and "how to make the tiny desk concert" climbed at the same time, because people wanted the format without the editing work.

That is the gap this site fills: the same nineteen seconds, the same five shots, your own people in them.

A note on who you cast

The original starred public figures. If you make your own, cast people who said yes: your crew, your team, your family. It's also simply funnier, because the people watching know them. This site doesn't accept photos of public figures or of anyone under 18, and every video it makes is a labelled AI parody.
