Privacy Policy

How Outstanding Tiny Desk handles your account, your photos and the videos you make.

Last updated Oct 26, 2026

The short version

We use your photos to make your video and for nothing else. We don't sell your data, we don't use your photos to train AI models, and you can delete your videos and your account whenever you like.

Who we are

Outstanding Tiny Desk (outstandingtinydesk.net) is an independent online tool that edits people from uploaded photos into a short parody clip based on a Tiny Desk concert. It is not affiliated with NPR or Tiny Desk. Questions about this policy go to support@outstandingtinydesk.net.

What we collect

  1. Sign-in information. The email you register with, the display name you choose and, when you use Google sign-in, the basic profile Google passes on. We use these to run your account and to contact you about it.
  2. Photos you upload. The photos you add to the session sheet. Each photo is re-encoded (location and camera data are removed) and stored so the video can be made and shown back to you.
  3. Videos you make. The finished clip, a poster frame and whether you chose to pin it to the public gallery.
  4. Payment records. When you buy credits, the payment is handled by our payment provider. We receive the order details (pack, amount, status) but never your full card number.
  5. Technical data. Basic logs such as IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, used to keep the service secure, stop abuse (for example, limiting free credits per network) and fix problems. Cookies remember your session and, where analytics are switched on, count visits.

How we use it

  • To make the video you asked for: your photos are sent to the AI video-editing provider we use for processing, together with the source footage.
  • To show you your videos in My videos and, only if you leave the gallery switch on, to show the finished video on the public wall.
  • To process purchases, refunds and credit balances.
  • To answer support requests and to prevent fraud or misuse.

Your photos and sets are never fed into model training, and personal data is never sold.

Who processes data for us

We rely on a small number of service providers: website hosting, cloud storage for photos and videos, a database for accounts and credit balances, an AI video-editing provider for the edits themselves, a payment processor, and, if enabled, email delivery and site analytics. They process data only to provide their service to us.

Videos are pinned to the gallery by default, and you can turn that off before you record or at any time afterwards in My videos. A private video is not shown in the gallery and its share link stops working. Photos are never shown publicly.

Retention

Uploads and finished sets remain in your account for as long as you keep them there. Deleted videos are removed from the gallery right away and from storage within 30 days. If you delete your account, we delete its photos, videos and profile, keeping only what we must for accounting or legal reasons, such as payment records.

Your choices and rights

You can download or delete any of your videos in My videos, change a video's visibility, and ask us to export or delete your personal data by writing to support@outstandingtinydesk.net. Local law may give you further rights, for example to see, correct or limit how your data is used, or to raise a complaint with your data protection regulator.

Children

The service is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it, and photos of anyone under 18 are not allowed.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, tell you by email.
